Brief History of the Lodge

Kittan Lodge is made up of 8 original lodges. These lodges were Buffalo/Sisilija 19 (1925), Wakpominee 48 (1930), Mahikan 181 (1940), Mohawk 267 (1944), Ta-Oun-Ya-Wat-Ha 268 (1944), Loon 364 (1947), Nick Stoner/Thayendenaga 418 (1949/1953), and Mohican/Halfmoon 28 (1927/1947). Mahikan Lodge and Mohawk Lodge was the first merger to form Nischa Nimat Lodge 181(1963). This would spark a continuous chain of events that would eventually form Kittan Lodge 19. Thus, Ta-Oun-Ya-Wat-Ha and Thayendenaga Lodge merged with Nischa Nimat to form Ganeinkah Lodge 181(1990). Ganeinkah Lodge merged with Sisilija Lodge 19, the following year, to become Ganeinkah 19(1991). Wakpominee Lodge merged with Ganeinkah 19 to form Haudenousaunee Lodge 19(1999). The next merger was Haudenousaunee Lodge 19 with Loon Lodge 364 to form Kittan Lodge 364(2006).   The final merger in 2025 is Kittan 364 with Halfmoon 28 to form Kittan 19.
